A Rite of Passage...Sniff...

Before I even write this post, I can hear my Dad having a good chuckle. Miles has been preparing me for weeks and last night he staged a little intervention. It went something like this, "Honey, it's really time to turn CR's car seat around." I protested but Miles held out. When the pediatrician told me that she was heavy enough to turn the seat around but that it was "so much safer" to keep her facing backward, I decided then and there that she would face backward until she went to college. Although CR only weighs 22lbs. She is quite tall and her legs were squished. So we took the seat out of the car and Daddy-Papa (as CR has been calling him) adjusted the straps so that they fit her better. She managed to loosen the harness the other day so it was time to move the straps up. She's going nowhere now.
CR thought that it was hilarious that the car seat was in the house. What's funnier than that?
The Big Move. I had to even kiss the baby mirror goodbye. Sniff...

My baby's growing up. Next stop...college. Well, maybe we'll work on potty training next.

Isn't it funny how different things make us sniff for our babies? There have been lots of things that have done it for me, but The Turning Of The Car Seat was not one of them.

I have wept over the car seat before, though. In fact it was just the other day, when I discovered that Jack quietly, and without any warning, had saturated the thing.
