So, I had the coolest moment EVER this morning. CR got home from the doctor and was still not herself. It had been a rough trip, more below. So we are hanging out in the playroom and she looks at me and, for the first time unprompted says, "Wuveee Mommy." I wanted to cry right there. CR has been a hugger, kiss blower and the occasional, "wuvee" (I love you) but only when asked or prompted. And I thought the first time Miles told me he loved me was great!
So this morning we went to see Dr. B, only Dr. B is on vacation and rather than letting us wait to see Dr. B. we saw the CNP. Perfectly knowledgable and personable lady. CR had an absolute meltdown. She didn't want to go in the office, didn't want to get on the scale and certainly didn't want to be touched. Those that know her well will know that this is absolutely NOT like her. Even when she doesn't want something she usually just complains but soldiers on, this morning she developed an instant rash she was so upset. She was having none of it.
Then there was the delightful advice I got..."let her scream all night...just get some of those shooting earplugs". OY!! Then, just take her meeka (pacifier) away from her. And my personal favorite, she shouldn't be afraid of anything, she must have had a trauma, that or your house is too quiet (in reference to her fears of the bathtub and vacuum cleaner.) What???
I'm afraid Blogger will give me an R rating if I say what I think here so I'll self edit and let you all fill in the blanks...
Needless to say, I came home, called my friend Cat and asked for her pediatrician's name. We liked Dr. B but I think he's retiring and I just don't need any of this nonsense. On the brightside, and most importantly, CR is now in the 10th percentile for height and weight. On the down side she has some pretty rockin' allergies and there is a concern that she will get ear infections and asthma. OY!! They put her on Zyrtec but if anyone has any ideas of good natural stuff please let me know. They want her to take a shower every night to clean out her nose and eyes. This for the kid who is afraid of the tub. I'll keep you posted....

I think Hyland's (the teething tablet people) have an allergy thing. I'll talk to my herbalist and see what he says.
I just had a major blow-out with a NP in my doctor's office. I will save it for a post later. Punchline to that story: I think he got an earful from my doc after we left the office. HA!
The wuvee was so sweet. HB is doing it prompted now, and his is wuvoo.
