Fear Itself....

I have a final thought on the election to share with everyone, I know for the most part I'm preaching to the choir here but I had a 4am relevation this weekend and you just can't ignore those.

In the end, this election is about fear. Whether we are going to stay home with our doors locked because the terrorists are going to get us or if we are going to pick ourselves up and say we aren't going to be afraid anymore.

I really do think it is that simple. It is time to move on people...The attack as horrific, scary and unimaginable as it was, was 7 years ago and it's time to put our big kid pants on and say, "yup, they got us, going to have to do better next time". Terrorism is a fact, not a threat, not a war it just is, and is a reality for most countries now days. We need to deal, and I don't think we are.

There is work to be done in this country and it's time that we started doing it. Everything else has fallen by the way side in favor of a war that still doesn't make any sense to me. I do think we need to continue to fight in Afghanistan but Iraq is a losing cause, what is the end game? What does "winning" look like? I have no idea what "winning" looks like in any war but here if we set up a working democratic government is that a win? I have no idea.

I'm voting for Barack Obama because he sees beyond the fear of terrorism to the work that must be done in order to stop the decline of this country. I fear if we don't turn around now it will be too late, we will be Rome. A nice idea that just didn't work out mostly because of greed.

I don't want that for my children. Stepping off my soap box now. Back to the teapot tomorrow. Might have something really exciting by the end of the week!
