Just a little bit more...

Many of you know that I write about Disney on the side. The Online Disney Community had some interesting takes on yesterday's election, interesting enough that I thought you might be interested. (How many times can I say interesting in a sentence.) First, voting was frequently placed in the light of "being an Imagineer" as The Hall of Presidents is going down for a HUGE refurbishment and the newly elected president will play a role in the newly redone attraction. It is also a big deal as famed Disney artist Blaine Gibson has sculped every president in the Hall since it's first opening, at age 90 he is now retired and will not sculpt the new president but pass on the torch to a new imagineer. The newly redone attraction will reopen on July 4th of next year, however given Maya Angelou's narration and emphasis on the Lincoln'd speech there is a lot of speculation as to how large a role America's first African American president will play. I hope Disney takes advantage of the Lincoln/Obama connection but we will just have to wait.

In today's blogs and online fodder, the lines were drawn over and over again between Obama and Lincoln (Uncle Walt's hero).

The two photos above were placed together on a former castmembers blog, "The Best Possible Job". The top photo is from "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" the first audio animatronic attraction built.

There is no Disney link here I just loved this AP photo. I'm not sure who is more pleased. We had more than a few "Obama Bumps" in our house today.

Finally, this is from my favorite Disney Blog: 2719 Hyperion.com

Amen.
