RC's Baptism

Our sweet little RC was baptized last weekend at Homer Congregational Church.

Pastor Barbara did a wonderful job and made it a joyful and joyous occasion for everyone, RC included.  She has been fiercely teething (6 teeth in the last three weeks!) and was not feeling 100%.

Our dear friends Matt and Nydia did us the honor of being RCs godparents.  They live terribly far away but keep up with us through Facebook and Skype but we think of them as family and were thrilled to make it official.  Isn't the internet wonderful?

I love it that Pastor Barbara talks to the kids instead of at them.  CR's godfather Aaron took all of these photos and did a great job of catching this moment with RC listening...

This was my favorite moment of the day, RC was taken around to be introduced to the congregation after they promised to help to bring her up in the church.  Someone waved at her and she started waving at everyone.  There was a wonderful and unforgettable moment of laughter and shared community with everyone waving at RC and her waving back.

We had a ton of family and friends come into town to share in this celebration and see, meet and visit with each other.  Unfortunately, we were so busy enjoying ourselves that we did not stop to take photos.  Thanks to all who came.  It was a very special day for all of us.
